I learned from a Greek person last night that it's actually pronounced "year-ohs," and not "gye-rohs." So here's to the gyro 2008~
I think I'd like to reflect on some of the year using visual aid, but I'm too lazy to put these random pictures in chronological order so bear with the randomness. Actually, you don't need to be BEAR, because life is random. Before I start that, it's not like these pictures en-capture the entire year... they're just photos from my phone and my camera (that I rarely carry around anymore), SO I guess they were valuable enough moments that I wanted to capture them for a lifetime~

During May-June-ish, this film student from USC asked me if I wanted to write a song and then be in a music video for it, so at that time when I was in my (ongoing) I'm-gonna-be-a-rapper-phase, I jumped at the chance. We recorded the song with legit equipment, and I still actually like the song. Artists are usually their harshest critics, so actually liking the song myself means something to me. Unfortunately, she hasn't gotten around to editing the footage we shot for the video yet. Hopefully that'll be done soon. So I can be famous.

This was sometime in spring quarter where Eileen and I spontaneously went kayaking. We used to do a lot of spontaneous things, including ditching school to go snowboarding, which was one of my most memorable days so far :) I really miss Eileen. I hate knowing that she's in LA right at this moment and I'm not hanging out with her because I'm at home. I shall see her on Sunday! Yayyyy~

Buckwald is an inflatable dead janitor man or something, and I carried him around class and on the bus and everything to market for Repo! The Genetic Opera, which was one of the most bizarre movies I've ever seen. I liked it a lot though. Go watch it. Preese.

On BruinWalk selling some bargain deal human body parts. Yeeeeah boy, don't get on my bad side.

I'm still not really sure what happened exactly, but my roommate was moving my car and I guess the window shattered. The glass peoples came to my apartment to fix it, and I felt funny just leaving my keys+car with some guy, so I stuck around while he fixed it, and he was sort of creepy. He asked me what my major was (it's psychology) and then he started talking as if it was a therapy session. He told me that he's really sex-deprived and frustrated, and he asked me how to control his urges and desires. I told him I haven't taken a human sexuality class yet and then I just sort of dodged all the other weird comments he made for the next hour.

Halloween! Dr. Zoidberg, something-something (haha sorry Brian I don't know what you were), and Paulie Bleeker. This was one of the first times I hung out with Chico Bonito. My friends asked me, "Hey, do you have something going on with that guy?" and I was like, "heck no techno." Cuties.

This quarter was full of some crazy guerilla marketing for CEC films, which entitled staying up til 3 or 4, or waking up at 3 or 4 (these are both AM times). In hindsight, it was fun and I loved hanging out with Dougal. We have such awkward humor/chemistry. It lights up my life. Too bad we're not partners anymore :( But now I'll be working with Jimmison hooray!

AK (Albert) and Jabez (Dale) dropped their mix tape a few weeks ago, and I was honored and privileged to be featured on one of their tracks. This was the recording session at Dale's apartment, where his roommates made chili and fed me afterward. These guys are so talented, I still can't believe they asked me to contribute.

Thanksgiving spread~ It was weird because it was one of the few times we didn't have the dinner at our house, but it was cool because we didn't have to clean up afterward. Yeah! Yummy food. I ate soooo much. Korean peoples' Thanksgiving dinners are the best. Best of both worlds, dude. Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and ban-chan.

Meet Sugar the pitbull! She is my neighbor's dog and soooo cute and affectionate. I want a pitbull now. They're such misunderstood creatures. I think she may have been abused by a previous owner (I think that's what my neighbor said), but he's obviously done a great job rehabilitating her because she's so lovable now.

Wine tasting in Monterey with my dad and sister. Of course I just snuck in sips when the servers weren't looking teehee. Two more months! Anyways, this day was nice just relaxing with my family. I think it was during Thanksgiving break... Ugh I just discovered a pimple forming on the inside of my nostril. It hurts like a bitch.

Stupendous man! This is one of Ryan's (my boyfrennnn) tattoos. I love looking at this thing.

Okay, so as much as I gripe about streetwear trends and junk, I still read TheHundreds blog almost everyday, and once bobbyhundreds recommended this Japanese ramen place so I took my cousin there. I don't really like Japanese ramen, but this place is good, I assume. My cousin liked it. And I ate it. Haha. It's at the Mitsuwa market on Centinela and Venice.

Ryan took me and my cousin to the improv comedy club The Groundlings in LA, and even though my cousin (fob) didn't really understand much of what they were saying (me when I'm watching Gag Concert), I was laughing my head off. Special treats that night were guests Mindy Sterling and Seth Green. He's freaking tiny in real life. The light is crazy and this picture is way overexposed, but he's the second from the left. That big black guy is the dad of the kid with asthma in a wheelchair on Malcom in the Middle.

Preparing for Hanoolim winter MT was such a pain in the ass, but this made it all worth it. It was so pretty that day, and this is when Sam taught me how to finally carve. Booyah! Only one run was open and it was super steep, but whatevs, it was sooo pretty that day. This picture is from my shitty phone camera and it still looks so magical. The next day it was blizzarding like crazy and the guys had to shovel our cars out of the driveway. I drove through snow and intense fog. I feel like such an adult now.

I went snowboarding again a few days ago with my cousin, my friend Brian, Ryan, his brother, and his friend Andy. This day was sooooo freaking fun. Since I can carve now, it was so freaking freaking fun just shredding it up with the boys. Ryan can't really board, but I had a good time trying to teach him some basics. Also, I really think teaching people makes you better at what you're teaching so it was a good day for me too. We buried Ryan in the snow (there was soooo much snow!). When we were all pooped from boarding all day, we just played in the snow like crazy. Too fun. Like a kid again.

Me and Brian chillin after a gooood good day of snowboarding.

So now the phone pictures are done and these are pictures from my camera from fall quarter. This was at the very beginning of the quarter having a mini-Yonsei reunion in K-town. Haven't seen these bitches in a long time, which makes me really sad :( House party part II in Irvine soon?

So for Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving), Esther's family graciously adopted me for the day and I had a crazy dinner with them and then we went to NRB. This was the dduk (rice cakes) that the NRB gave us, but I was so stuffed from dinner that I barely ate any... Actually I don't remember eating any at all. But now I wish I did.

Esther munching on some dduk while singing (probably) Big Bang or Epik High. I miss these days! Seriously in the beginning of the quarter, Esther was sleeping over at my apartment all the time. It was awesome heehee. I miss you, my other lover~

I got hella sunburned from Enormous Activities Fair. I'm still pale as hell though haha. It's just now there's a distinction of pale and paler on my shoulders. Time to start taking sunblock more seriously, kids.

Brian's getting jiggy with it. He's wearing Ryan's jacket and hat. Lookin' fly. I see London, I see France...

Big year turning into a rebel/badass. Got my tongue pierced on a whim.

Dog sat for my friend Ashley. I forgot the dog's name, but she was cute. The name was Chinese... Anyway, she was so cute sleeping next to my feet and like yeah. She has crazy eyes in the photo heehar. She kept trying to sleep in my bed but that's no bueno for me. She was really persistent about it haha.

So... one time during some midterms or something I drank like three 5-Hour-Energies in a day, and then I felt like shit. So I stayed in watching Amelie by myself, and then Ryan stopped by just for a moment to bring me these because he heard I wasn't feeling well. What a cornball.

Creeeeepy he's sleeping with his eyes open. He says it's because he's a ninja and he's always alert, but I was hella waving my hands in front of him and he was k.t.f.o.

So if you haven't met him yet, my cousin came to visit Cali from Mississippi and has been staying with me all break. He came to LA during finals week (which was a bad idea), but anyways, here he is. So handsome. Must be in our blood.

My dad, me, and sister at the mission at Santa Clara Univ. Cathedrals have always been spooky to me, instead of warm and welcoming as I assume it should feel. Anyways, they're always really beautiful though. You know... SCU was the first university to be established in California ever :O Yeah boyyyy my dad's a finance professor there. It's weird thinking of my parents being professors because I can't imagine some of my professors being parents.

Me and the cousin in Monterey. Check out his shoes! We found 'em at Buffalo Exchange for $30.

Sister, cousin, and me at Monterey Bay Aquarium (one of my lugares favorito).

I love the Outer Bay exhibit. It's probably my favorite tank, and I can spend so much time here just sitting and watching the fish. I'm not sure when they took out the turtle, but that's a bummer. My dream house has a bigass fish tank.

Silhouettes of my cousin and sister~

Our Christmas tree. Our artificial, 18-year-old Christmas tree. With various ornaments of the past including crazy looking art projects of my sister and me. Christmas decorations are seriously like time capsules. I love it. Do you see that brown pizza thing in the lower left part of the tree? That's a reindeer.

My dad opening a book my mom got that points out the best eateries in Seoul.

My sister got me this mic, so that I can record some higher quality stuff, so keep your ears peeled. I have a lot of stuff written and planned for the months to come!
Happy new year, and I hope you all resolve to resolve (not a typo) to be better and strive for more on a daily basis rather than an annual one. This is why I don't make New Year's Resolutions, because why wait til December 31 every year to decide to make some big changes in your life? Do it everyday.

ZOIDBERG!
My boyfriend'd be so jealous of that Thanksgiving dinner. I recently got him addicted to Korean food. I think I see some japchae there!
I haven't been to Mission Santa Clara in so long. If you want a creepy one, go to the one in Soledad. The mission's name translates to "The Mission of Mary Most Holy, Our Most Sorrowful Lady of Solitude" in English. There's a frightening statue of the Virgin Mary in an old black dress at the altar. Really, really creepy. I'm not religious, but I've always loved missions. I'm a geek about them.
